Beautiful Butterflies
Beautiful Butterflies, established in 2011, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides education and support for lupus patients, particularly minorities.
The founder and Executive Director is Keva Brooks Napper, who was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in 2003 and Protein S Deficiency in 2004. From that she suffered several grand mal seizures and two strokes occurring from 3 blood clots on her brain. Mrs. Napper has made a remarkable recovery and since has been dedicating her life to educating the community about the disease and advocating on behalf of others who persevere through the everyday challenges of having Lupus disease.
The mission of Beautiful Butterflies is to “support individuals with lupus, their families, friends and caregivers; advocate for increased public and private sector support for research on lupus; heighten awareness of the impact and effects of lupus.”
